REASONS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF LEGISLATION ON GREEN CONSTRUCTION IN UKRAINE

Green building is the practice of creating structures and using processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s life-cycle from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and deconstruction [1].
The development and implementation of green building technologies were important for Ukraine even before the full-scale invasion, as most residential buildings had been built before Ukraine became independent.
In Ukraine, there is no specific legislation regulating the construction of green buildings, except for some laws addressing energy efficiency in buildings.
